Common questions
Answers taken from the guides; each links to the guide it comes from.
Do I pay any fee as a buyer?
Exportain charges buyers no plan or membership fee. For a funds hold you pay only the hold amount itself.
Is a Gold supplier more trustworthy?
No. Gold/Platinum is only a paid plan. Look at the trust badges for trustworthiness.
Will suppliers see my name?
The public RFQ list does not show your name or company. A supplier who is matched to the RFQ or who sends a quotation sees your company name — so they know who they are quoting.
From Post an RFQ
Is money taken when I accept?
No. Accepting creates an order. The payment terms are in the quotation's Payment terms; the supplier may ask for a funds hold so the money is held on Exportain.
Is there a fee for a funds hold?
No. You pay exactly the hold amount. Fees are taken from the supplier's payout.
Can I open both a buyer and a seller account with the same email?
No. One email, one account. Use different emails.
Does opening a dispute cancel the order?
No. Only the money involved stays frozen until the admin decides.
Does Exportain phone people and ask for codes?
No. If anyone asks for a code or password, don't give it, and tell support@exportain.com.
