Where to start
- Post a Buying Requirement on the buyer portal's Overview, or go straight to exportain.com/rfqs/new.
- Request quote from a specific product page — the category and other details may then be filled in already.
Filling in the form
- What you're sourcing — What are you sourcing? * (for example "100% combed cotton crew-neck T-shirts, 180 GSM") and Category *.
- Requirements — Specifications *: material, weight/GSM, size and colour split, packaging, labelling, testing, tolerances.
- Quantity & target price — Quantity *, Unit * (for example Pieces, Kilograms, Containers), optional Target unit price and Currency.
- Delivery terms — Destination country *, Destination port (for example Hamburg), Incoterm (FOB, CIF, CFR, EXW, DDP or Other).
- Compliance & deadline — Required certifications (for example OEKO-TEX, GOTS, BSCI) and Quotation deadline (leave it empty and the RFQ stays open with no deadline).
- Supplier preferences — see below.
- Press Publish RFQ. Supplier matching starts as soon as it is published.
Who sees your RFQ
- A normal RFQ goes to the marketplace; any registered supplier can send a quotation.
- If you tick Show this RFQ publicly on Exportain without your name or company, it appears in the public RFQ list — without your name or company.
- If you start from a supplier's page, there is an option to send it to that supplier only (Address this RFQ to … only). Such an RFQ is never shown publicly.
After posting
- My RFQs shows the RFQ, its status and how many quotations have arrived.
- You get a notification when a quotation arrives. Open it and compare — Quotations.
- While the status is "open" or "matching" you can cancel it with Cancel.
- The RFQ Buyer badge shows while at least one RFQ is open.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Will suppliers see my name?
The public RFQ list does not show your name or company. A supplier who is matched to the RFQ or who sends a quotation sees your company name — so they know who they are quoting.
What happens if I don't set a deadline?
The RFQ stays open with no deadline until you cancel it or accept a quotation.
